Hello, I am Thayer Allyson Gowdy and Wilder Pottery is my ceramic practice.  It emerged from a desire to feel closer to this darling earth. To honor mother nature + embrace pottery as a personal meditation practice. Offering ceramics for rituals, a fistful of wildflowers, shared meals + cooking on open fire.

Coyotes, Matilija Poppies, Great Horned Owls, Cactus, Rattlesnakes and Pixie Oranges form a repeating pattern + grace dinnerware in my newest collection: The Wilder Toile Family.  Embracing the diverse flora and fauna in the Valley of the Moon.

I am  currently creating  a line of share plates for The Nest in Ojai, Ceremonial Candles for local shops in the Ojai Valley, while developing a line of smoke ware and flower vessels for Island Pond Cannabis Co.   Speckle ware is my winter obsession reminiscent of my camping plates and a vintage turkey roaster.

I makes everything in small batches from my greenhouse pottery studio in Ojai , California or my barn in Island Pond, Vermont.  I split my time between east and west coast.
